39.06 Acrylic polymers in primary forms. - Poly(methy1methacrylate) 3906.90 - Other 3906.10 The expression " ac lic polymers " covers polymers of acrylic or methacrylic acid, of their salts or esters, or oft e corresponding aldehydes, amides or nitriles. X Poly(methy1 methacrylate) is the most important polymer of this category. It is used, because of its excellent o tical properties and its physical seen , as a glazing material, in outdoor signs and other disp ay articles, and in the manufacture o artificial eyes, contact lenses and artificial dentures. P P Polymers of acrylonitrile may be used in the manufacture of synthetic fibres. For the classification of polymers (includin copolymers chemically modified polymers and polymer blends, see the General Explanatory ote to this Jhapter. k This heading excludes : (a) Acrylic polymers which are ion-exchangers (heading 39.14). (b) Co olymers of acrylonitrile which comply with the requirements of Note 4 to Chapter 40 (cl!apter 40). -
