52.02 Cotton waste (including yarn waste and garnetted stock). - Yarn waste (including thread waste) - Other : 5202.91 - - Garnetted stock 5202.99 - - Other 5202.10 In general, this heading covers waste cotton obtained when cotton is prepared for spinning, or during spinning operabons, weaving, knitting, etc., or f?om the garnetting of cotton goods. It thus includes : Combing waste, usually referred to as comber noils; strippings recovered from carding or combing cylinders; broken fibres detached during the drawing process; fragments of slivers or rovings; carding fly; tangled yarn and other yam waste; yarn and fibres resulting from the garnetting of rags. This waste may contain easy matter, dust or other extraneous matter or may have been cleaned, bleached or dyed. t may be used for spinning or may serve for other purposes. 'T The heading excludes : (a) Cotton linters (heading 14.04). (b) Wadding (heading 30.05 or 56.01). (c) Carded or combed cotton waste (heading 52.03). (d) Textile flock and dust and mill neps (heading 56.01). (e) Used or new rags and other scrap textile articles (heading 63.10).
Cotton Subheading Note. 1.- For the p oses of subheadings 5209.42 and 5211.42, the expression "denim" means fabrics of yarns of d2erent colours, of 3-thread or 4-head twill, including broken twill?warp faced, the yarns of which are of one and the same colour and the weft yarns of which are unbleached, b l e a o z dyed grey or coloured a lighter shade of the colour of the warp yarns.
