This group covers yarns, whether sin le or multi le (folded , obtained by s inning the fibres of true hemp of heading 53.02, o the vegetaI? le textile lbres of heading 3.05, or of the vegetable fibres not classified in Section XI (in particular those of Chapter 14, e.g., kapok or istle). d f However, if the are within the definition of twine, c o r k e, rope or cables (see Part (I) (B) (2) of the General ~xpaanatory~ o t to e Section XI) they are class1 led in heading 56.07. S Yams of true hemp are used for sewing thread (e.g., in shoe or leather goods manufacture), or for weaving. Yam remains in this group whether or not put up for retail sale or processed as indicated in Part (I) (B) (1) of the General Explanatory Note to Section XI. Metallised yarns, including yarns of this group, combined with metal thread in any proportion, are excluded (beading 56.05). (B) Paper yarn. This grou covers yarns, whether single or multiple (folded), of pa er. They are classified here whet er or not put u for retail sale, and whether or not in the orrn of twine, cordage, rope or cables, but exclu!d ng plaited cordage, rope and cables. F K Yarns remain in this group whether or not processed as indicated in Part (I) (B) (1) of the General Explanatory Note to Section XI. Single yarns are obtained b twisting or rolling len wise strips of moist paper (sometimes coated); multiple Jolded) yarns are obtained y doubling two or more single yarns. P The heading does not include : (a) Paper simply folded one, or more times lengthwise (Chapter 48). (b) Paper yams spun with metal thread or covered with metal by any process (metallised yarns) (heading 56.05). (c) Paper yarns simply reinforced with metal, and plaited cordage, rope and cables, of paper yarn (heading 56.07).
Other vegetable textile fibres; paper yarn and woven fabrics of paper yarn GENERAL The General Explanatory Note to Section XI should be taken into account in reading the Explanatory Notes to this Chapter. In general, and with certain exceptions referred to in the Explanatory Note to heading 53.05, this Chapter deals with vegetable textile materials (other than cotton) at the various stages from the raw materials to their transformation into woven fabrics. It also includes aper yarns and woven fabrics of paper yarn, and products of mixed textile materials assimi ated to the products of this Chapter under the provisions of Note 2 to Section XI. P
